It seemed to be graduation week here. Two cousins of mine graduated and my brother did as well. Convocations are boring, but an opportunity to get great photos. Many will be posted here under portraits and under my Project365.
I sit on a school board in Sudbury and I was lucky enough to take part in the most recent meeting in Elliot Lake at Laurentian Lodge. It’s a beautiful place, waterfalls, cozy rooms, fantastic views. I was able to take many shots, a dozen or so can be found in landscapes & nature, here.
I had a cool surprise earlier today. The website Schmap contacted me over my flickr :
“Hi Patrick,
I am writing to let you know that one of your photos with a Creative Commons license has been short-listed for inclusion in the seventh edition of our Schmap Ottawa Guide, to be published early June 2009.”
They let me keep the rights, they give me credit for the photo and they link to my flickr. I’m pretty flattered.
Spring is in the air, on the trees, in the grass and frankly all around. I’m excited to be able to take photos of things that are green again! The days are longer and nature is bloomingly beautiful. I’ve added to my landscapes & nature file.
On another note I’ve been contemplating a redesign of the site (again). Not a major overhaul, but I’m dissatisfied with the organization and I the top feels a bit empty compared to the side. I’ll see what I can do to balance things out.
